Offering a wide selection of international beers, wines, malt whiskies, brandies and liqueurs Potters is open to non residents and hotel guests and takes its name from the framed illustrations of antique breakfast, dinner and bathroom potters sets which decorate its walls.
Potters also provides the perfect environment for small informal meetings and social events. Beyond Potters is a stone flagged alfresco dining area shaded by tall Yew trees, ideal for informal dining on warm summer days.
“One of the best small hotels I have ever stayed in”
This really is a delightful hotel for the weary traveller. Staff went out of their way to provide a warm welcome; the room was well appointed with all facilities including an iron, ironing board, books, tea making etc. etc. The bed had a wonderfully comfortable mattress, with lots of pillows. Warm bathroom, nicely decorated and finished (I refused to get on the scales after the home made soup and superb sandwiches which met me on a late arrival). Breakfast in the morning was as good as I have ever eaten, the scrambled eggs properly cooked, together with locally sourced ingredients and excellent service. I recommended this hotel to all 15 of the delegates on the course I was running.

We spent our wedding night here- with virtually all the rooms occupied by family and friends. It was wonderful. Tom and Sandra couldn't do enough to help us and breakfast was such a treat. I can wholeheartedly recommend this hotel. We love it so much we are celebrating my Father's 70th birthday there!
