Full of Surprises - The Hotel's Secret Garden
Hidden away at the rear of the hotel is a tranquil landscaped Victorian secret Garden with immaculate lawns, cobbled pathways, ornaments and a magical fountain creating a haven for those who enjoy relaxing out doors.
In both 2011 and 2012 the hotel garden won The East Midland in Bloom Gold Award and was the overall winner for the best hotel garden.

As an experienced gardener, I could truly appreciate the hard work that has gone into the creation and subsequent upkeep of the ‘secret garden’ with its paved and cobbled pathways giving way to flowerbeds richly planted with all the traditional shrubs and flowers that would have been in keeping with the Victorian period. The centre piece was a spectacular fountain, the sound of running water making a most tranquil setting, and all the planting schemes complemented each other to perfection. This was a real gardener’s dream and a place for guests to relax, in one of the many seating niches
